THE NUMBER 1 METHOD FOR
CHOOSING THE CORRECT POWER:
For the 'Avid' shooter who spends more time on the Range than the Spouse
chooses to like, but will tollerate, using this simple formula will get
you started off in the correct direction.
With your present 'vision devise' ie: glasses...contacts...Knoblocks/Champions...or
just safety glasses, [if] you need a better POST you
will need a POSITIVE correction or a [+] LENS...
BUT...IF
you need a better TARGET you will need a NEGATIVE
correction
or a [-] LENS. NOTE: no you can't
get one of each and improve both at the same time.
If you can see GOOD all
day long, but the sight-picture or lack of a sight picture, causes you
to loose points, usually "Verticle Stringing"only at the 600 yd.
'Slow-Fire' stage, you will need a .25 POWER
LENS, [+] for Post [-] for Target.
If you can see GOOD at the 200yd.
line, but the 300yd. sight-picture is weak and causes you to loose points,
then you will need a .37 POWER LENS, [+]
for Post [-] for Target. The 600yd. line will be
better, but you may find an 'increase' in power on some days, will Help
that weak 600yd sight-picture. NOTE: Higher numbers indicate
more power.
If you have a BAD / WEAK
/ or NO SIGHT-PICTURE from the very first shot or
sight-picture of the day, I Would Strongly Recomend
that you see an eye Doctor to get your "vision devise" Prescription up-dated.
OR
, If you can see 'down range' with out difficulty, but just
need a better Post, You will need a [+] .50
power or more. OR Target, will require a [-].50 power or
more.
THE NUMBER 2 METHOD
REWORDING THE FORMULA:
200 YDS.
POST =
+.50 or More Power
TARGET = -.50 or More Power
300 YDS.
POST =
+.37 or More
TARGET = - .37 or More
600YDS.
POST =
+ .25 or More
TARGET = - .25 or More
THIS FORMULA applies to 'Reduced' course of fire or even the novice shooter who needs a little help with the sight-picture on that odd occasion that the Spouse releases the chains and 'Allows' you to 'go ahead, go shooting, the chores will still be here when you return'.
THE NUMBER 3 METHOD
NEXT METHOD OF
TESTING YOUR LENS REQUIREMENTS :
Ask the other shooters on the Range about their sights. Most shooters are more happy to 'Show Off' their new equipment or accessories than they are to talk about the last score fired. If no one has the 'correct' type of sight you want to see, the alternative is to decide the range of power you may need from the charts, and order those 2 POWERS for testing on your Range. With a deposit, I will send to you the 2 POWERS you choose. You then have 30 Days to return one of those 2 lenses for deposit credit to your credit card account. NOTE: Discussed in the PRICES and SHIPPING OPTIONS Text on another page.
